Gina has emerged in Chicago as a powerful and skilled bandleader able to bring together top-notch Chicago talent in any genre. A stylistic chameleon, her versatility is showcased in each ensemble. When performing vintage music, she delivers an authentic sound with an incredibly wide range. Gina's original songs are catchy, energetic and dripping with drama.
In addition to leading The Gina Marie Swingtet, Gina Marie and the Golden Bucks, and The Retroactive She also performs with Paul Asaro and his Rhythm and the Chicago Swell Sisters, Currently, Gina makes a monthly appearance singing with the Alan Gresik Swing Orchestra at the Green Mill Jazz Club in Chicago.
Gina is a graduate of Vandercook College of Music with a degree in Music Education. As an active performer around Chicago, Gina has appeared on ABC, WGN, and Fox. She has been a featured performer at iconic Chicago venues such as House of Blues, Metro, the Double Door, The Green Mill, and Lincoln Hall. She has performed throughout the continental United States, Europe and South America. She has performed at a wide range of area events and festivals including The Nashville Boogie Vintage Weekender, Lollapalooza, The Chicago Auto Show, Chicago Craic Oyster Festival, Moon Runners Music Festival, Symco Shakedown, Mountian Top Music Festival, and more.
She has made a multitude of appearances with Chicago's premier bands in every genre including Chicago Bears Drum line, Chicago Bulls Stampede Drum Line, Speakeasy Swing, The Flat Cats, Sway Chicago, Rhythmique, and The Chicago Cellar Boys,
Behind the scenes, Gina has produced all of her own work with the help of the fine fellows at Rax Trax Recording Studios. She has also co-produced albums for King By Friday and The Westerlees.
As an educator, Gina has served as adjudicator and clinician for MPC, IHSA, IMEA as well as regional solo ensemble festivals, Marching and Concert band competitions. She continues to clinic and consult educational programs in the greater Chicagoland area in the field of marching percussion, concert percussion, and symphonic band.
